LIFE JACKET APOLLO JIM IRWIN
Russian Soyuz capsules do not fall into the sea but land on the Siberian steppes, impacting the ground like bullets. Occasionally, contact with cosmonauts has been lost. If the loss of contact lasts for hours or even days, cosmonauts are equipped with various objects to survive in the vastness of the steppe. They have a set of flares to mark their position, a life jacket in case the capsule deviates and falls into the sea, as well as a survival kit with food rations and other basic utensils such as flashlights and Swiss army knives. In this situation, an American life jacket is always included in the kit because the command module always lands in the sea.
