The VKK-6M is the most common flight suit from Soviet times and remains in use in the Russian Air Force. It is designed for long flights at high altitude. VKK stands for “vysotno-kompensiruyushchi kostyum,” meaning altitude compensation suit. These suits served as a testbed for future spacesuits.

The suit connects through hoses to connectors in the cockpit. There is no pressure control valve within the suit itself, as all controls are managed from inside the cabin. This suit was used in the MIG-25R in 1965.
